Son recently picked up a Tikka 223 and a SWFA 3-9. He dropped it off on Monday while he is on temporary duty at Ft Campbell. I got everything set up and took it to the range today. I tested out loads that I have previously tested in my AR. He had brought along a 8 lb jug of SW Match, so I thought I would give it a try as well. Shooting was done at 100 yards with 5 round groups.

25.2 grains of SW Match avg 2869 with a SD 11.6 and right at an inch.
25.2 grains A2520 avg 2874 with a SD 13.3 and was the best group just under an inch.
23.4 grain IMR8208 avg 2853 with a SD 10.9 and just over an inch.
(?) PP Varmint avg 2874 with a SD 19.8. (charge weight not handy at the moment) Group opened up a bit.

Primers were slightly flatted, but no other pressure signs. Bolt lift was easy with each load.

Is anyone else trying SW Match with 77 grain SMKs, and what velocities are you seeing? Are my velocities too high for a 77 grain?

I have a bunch more loaded up for some 200 and 300 yard testing this weekend.

As a side note, this was a new rifle. I put the bore scope through it and have to say that Tikka makes a smooth barrel. No machining marks, no chatter marks. Nice sharp rifling and clean smooth throat.
