I'd venture there is a slight disparity between snow machining in Minnesota and the Beartooths. If truly Wilderness, the machines should not have been there in the first place.
Turn around and go back the way you came.
Lots of places around where that is simply not an option, especially if one starts on a downhill route.
Hope they have to pay to get their equipment out.
