I’ve got 2 first generation Tundras. The 2002 is a good solid machine but the 2005 has more electronics/ emission controls, thus more problems. The 2005-06’s have a secondary air injection system for emissions that is a major pain. I put in a bypass kit and blockage plates , I think it was 200 to 250$.
I like the trucks, bigger than a taco, but not as cumbersome as a full size. The 2005 I have is a four door and it’s just right.
