Initially that was true, but the most virulent strains of pathogens are short lived. It's hard for the to continue to spread if they kill the host to quickly. Too bad we don't have an organization within the Federal Government tasked with having the expertise to understand and deal with such pathogens that could give us sounds advise.

Maybe Biden will create one for us?
