Know him and his son, good people. I was involved in getting Charles's old record holder rifle to his son. The older rifle is a 300 Weatherby Ackley improved that used RL-25 with the 210 VLD back in the day to set the two older records he mentioned. His son is using it now.

The attention to detail on his loads it remarkable. I remember an arbor press with a gauge to show the seating pressure. Any brass that deviated from a value was deemed a fouler or rejected all together. I have seen Charles shoot in practice and it amazes me how smoothly he fires, pushes rifle forward and shoots another. The bags must be aligned properly so there is little adjustment between shots.

No doubt about it Charles has that special ability to do this kind of shooting.
