BMW is getting 500hp from a 3.0L I-6 with turbos in the M4. I could see a 4-4.5L version for truck use that would make big torque. BMW is already at close to 480ft lbs with that 3.0L. Ford is over 500ft lbs in their truck line of Ecoboost 3.5L V-6 engines. I could see the appeal in losing some moving parts with the inline versus the Vee setup, provided you have enough engine bay for the longer block of the inline.

I am a Noelle Performance Tuning Dealer, and our software package bumps the M4 from 431hp stock to 560hp, and 520 ft/lb of torque. All software, no bolt on's. Similarly, the 2018 and on M5 package increases hp from 617 stock to 850, and torque to 740 ft/lbs. Some manufacturers leave a lot on the table, others don't.

To anger a conservative, lie to him. To annoy a liberal, tell him the truth.
