I killed a rutting buck chasing a doe in the rain this past season. I couldn't get on him as they crossed the ridge/finger I was still hunting so I had to jog across two ridges to my right trying to catch up to them. I caught him as the doe turned and came back. Doubt I could have pulled it off if it wasn't pouring raining to make the leaves quite and cover the noise I was making getting my butt up/down those ridges.
