Unfortunately, a prior owner many many years ago, cut down the stock and installed a recoil pad. The workmanship was poor so I had a new buttstock made from Texas Black Walnut to replace it. The bore and original bluing are outstanding. The rifle is factory original except for the stock. Too bad it was cut but I still ended up with a sweet rifle, - T.S.
