Back in the day for that fine old Win Model 70 the Redfield one piece base was considered the way to go. Some writers even claimed it helped make the action stronger with the bridge across the top. I only have 1 pre '64 left which is a .264 westerner. It is a '59 with the 26" barrel. The rest are all classics.
