I have had two Delta Elites, one Kimber, and now a Dan Wesson Silverback (now discontinued). The DW is head and shoulders above the rest here - more accurate, more reliable and better finishes by a wide margin.

The DW also has a ramped barrel for more case support, and I suspect Is one of the reasons this pistol has never had a malfunction of any kind. I regularly shoot JHPs and lead SWCs, never a hitch.

I will also second the words above about adjustable sights, though I prefer a single safety.

While I have never hot rodded a 1911 .45, I strongly suspect the 10mm will pretty easily over power it. I especially like 200 gr loads.
