I used to read a lot, a whole lot of Skeeter Skelton articles & books. He often mentioned the 44 Special & his admiration. I had several 44 mags & figured they could be specials if needed or wanted & would mutter that under my breath.
Then one day I got a pistol sized & dedicated to the cartridge. Dammit, he tried to tell me, & was right, something special about the niche. Its "the" sweet spot in SA revolvers IMO.
