Just because a bullet kills an animal does NOT mean it lived up to design performance.

Exactly. Gut shooting an animal with a 22 will kill it. That doesn't mean it's an effective and humane means of hunting.

Similarly, the wounds from frangible bullets will eventually kill and animal. But the animal may go a very long way. The whole purpose of a well though out hunting bullet is to maximize the chance of an expanded straight-line pass through. That way you damage whatever vital organ(s) and support bones you lined up your shot on, and have a good exit wound blood trail to follow if the animal doesn't go do wn immediately.

The SGK is a failure at this basic task. There are plenty of bullets that do it much, much better. Now, people can shoot whatever the hell they want within the game laws, but a smart hunter will use a better bullet. The cost is trivial compared to the benefit.

Just a failure to meet your expectations.
