It's blitz season here. All the Black-chinned and Broad-tailed hummies have their kids of the year flying, making for crowded and boisterous dogfights at my feeders. Occasionally, we can see two at a feeder - must be nest mates or they'd fight. Going through a lot of syrup as a result.

It's a wonderful time, but it also means that they'll only be here for another month. Then comes the long, lonely winter. But winter is also junco season, and I love those cute little feather balls almost as much as the hummies.
