Marlin XLR 45-70 I bought new back in 1999 or 2000. Stainless 24" Bbl with Ballard Deep Grove rifling. Accurate 380gr mold which dropped 390gr from my scrap WW. Dropped Dia, .462. PC'ed & sized to .4593 according to my 0-1" Mic. Loaded to an OAL of 2.850 so the blunt nose of the bullet would clear the Marlins short throat. 10.5 BHN. Loaded over 34.5 grs of IMR 4198. Win LR primers & Win brass & crimped. MV 1450fps. All I care for in recoil & reasonably pleasant to shoot. Three shots at 100 yds. Two shots in left hole & one shot right. A pleasant group. A couple 6" sized rocks a bit father out were easily hit. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc] [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc][Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]
