The law, as I understand it, doesn't require the recipient of unsolicited goods in the mail, to pay cent one. There's also no requirement on the part of the recipient to call and cancel if you didn't solicit the item to start with.
The magazines may have billed your credit card company and they may not know you didn't order these subscriptions.
