I bought a blank already so he would have to cut threads either way. I'm sure it would save me some money but I like the looks of a clean shoulder vs the nut. I have Savages and RARs and like them just fine for what they are. I just wanted to know if there was any advantage other than turn around time and cost.

For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.
