Smith & Wesson Model 1 ½ *** SOLD***
There were three model of the 1 ½ or .32 frame S&W single action revolvers. All were top break with the First and Second model were .32 rimfire. Only this last Third, or New Model was chambered for the .32 S&W or .32 Short. The 3rd Model was manufactured from 1878 to 1892 and this serial number (31390) of some 97,574 total production.
The 5 shot cylinder has the auto eject function when the barrel is tipped down. This model was made with a rebounding hammer in an attempt to make it safer to carry with cartridge under the hammer.
This one is Nickel plated as were most. It shows much lost nickel and looks much worse than a blued gun with the same nickel loss would look. The gun functions very well and locks up tightly with correct action timing. The bore of the 3 ½” barrel is clean with all rifling present and some pitting. The revolver is all original with no modifications.
I’ve owned it for a few decades and having sold the rimfire earlier models am offering this one. It is a hoot to shoot with the small cartridges and shows decent accuracy with the rudimentary sights and the spur trigger.
This revolver is considered an antique by the ATF because all were manufactured prior to 1898 and it will be shipped UPS without need for an FFL. $225 + $15 ship. Payment by Postal Money Order from the Post Office. PM or email to:
I have some ammo that would be available as a separate transaction. .32 S&W ammo is often seen at gunshows because it is not popular.
