It's been big mature birds, mostly. It appears there was a poor hatch or poor juvenile survival. I did see a lot of birds and made a good friend in a landowner/rancher I spoke with. Good bird numbers fly into his alfalfa pivots in the evenings.

Owen got his two birds the first evening, and I got one, then I scratched two out Sunday early as I left for home...flew across the road. They're BIG old birds, with my big rooster headed to the taxidermist and two to the oven to slow roast with red wine, mushrooms, shallots, and sour cream.
