As others have stated, a trapline pistol gets ABUSED bad! They are wet all the time, get beat and banged on the snow machine and are used to dispatch animals at close range. Here in MN they need to be unloaded anytime you are in or on anything with an engine. I have an old Savage 101 22 "revolver" that is actually a single shot that has worked great for many years. If I drop in over the side of the canoe I am not out much.
