I once had a $1000+ bill for refueling. I was overseas and driving an old VW van, almost ran out of fuel but luckily found a literal oasis, a gas station in the middle of the Negev. Filled it up and before I had gone more than a few feet the engine seized.
I had put gas in a diesel.
Piker. When my wife put gas in the Ram about 15 years ago, it ran to $1700 to have it taken care - and no new engine , but did change to an external fuel pump, as long as they were in there.
Still running 3.57/3.20 for gas/diesel where we fill.
