I've picked up road kill in the past. However the last time I hit a small whitetail doing maybe 30 in my suburban (kind of rolled it with the bottom of the bumper off the road); second day of rifle here in Pa and was going to pick my daughter up at her mothers to take her to school. Got her dropped off, called the PGC and reported so they issued me a number. Picked up the deer and took it to where we process our deer here. Gutted it, hung it and skinned. It was ALL bruised and no good, I'll never process another road kill as long as I live.

OP, sorry for your misfortune. Good luck.
