Little background on this one Going in to Ah Najaf early march 03 Company size task force,s Company of M1,s and Bradley,s Company of light Infantry Plt of Tow Humvee,s organic to Infantry Bn Lots of combined fire power and abilities.
Bn broke down into 3 Company Task force,s with 1/72nd AR.
Go in behind rolling artillery barrage.
Bn gains foothold in city about 1/2 mile in depth and 1 mile wide. Prepare for further Mout ops to clear entire city over the next 4 days.
All 3 Bn,s in brigade staging to clear Ah Najaf in sectors.
Call up our Tow support from overwatch about an hour later. SFC Howell got his Tow Hummer rigged up with speakers. Not uncommon to hear all types of music from his platoon and his hummer.
