The ported 45/70's are nowhere near as loud as the high velocity ported rifles. Besides, you should be wearing hearing protection at the range anyways. Just saying. Also, its highly unlikely Ruger will be selling the new leverguns for $800 with the high price of steel, wood and labor. I would buy that levergun if you like it and if you sell it you would recoup the money paid.
