I have a K1S at my local gunsmith for a new barrel in 444 Marlin, which means that odds are Ruger will offer a 444 right about the time I write a check for mine, probably sometime early next year. I say this because it happened to me a few years ago with a 1S that I had rebarreled to 35 Whelen. Within a couple weeks of getting it home, the 35W 1S came out.


I built a 458x2” American based on a Ruger 77 Mark II short action and a Ruger No.3 45/70 take off barrel resulting in an ‘all Ruger parts’ 458 American.
Two months later Marlin & Hornady announced the new 450 Marlin 🙄
