A bunch of armchair hero's and wannabe Rambos will bluster.
But knowing that your name and address would be put out there,
Then acquitting him, would be the bravest thing most could ever do.
If they are smart enough to understand that your spouse, kids, parents, home,
business, cars....would all be targets.
I'd acquit. But my family would already be gone, and I be terrified of the future. Not so much for myself, but the things mentioned above.
It's one thing for a man to risk himself, but there are numerous professions
that do exactly that. None, put their family out there.
A normal person couldn't possibly protect everyone and everything nor
could he afford to get the protection necessary.
