The real world range in a Tesla is about mid 200 miles and it takes about an hour to recharge. I used to have a Tesla (the Model S) and thought it would be interesting to drive it from CA (when I lived there) to our place in Montana. 1000 miles of hell. Having to stop every 200 miles for an hour is a total deal killer for me, since I usually make the 1000 mile trip in a day. I hear that the newer Teslas can hit about 300 miles on the highway, but even that assumes you are driving about 70 mph, which is not going to happen for me.



I don't think I've ever seen a Tesla or charging station in Montana. My old vette has about 150 mile range on a good day, but at least it's cool and I can fill it up in 5 minutes laugh
