Among my modest collection of firearms the family will discover when I gone are three rifles of the same caliber; a Ruger 1 and two pre-64 Winchesters, they are all 270’s.
It will be noted by the more observant of the clan that they all have been used but well maintained. Further observation will reveal that they resided in the back of the safe, probably not used recently.
It’s owner seems to have moved on to other rifles and calibers such as the 25-06, 257 Roberts. 250 Savage, 7x57, 280, 284, 30-06 the 300 H&H and the 6.5 Creedmoor.
Someone may note in looking through my photo albums that the three 270’s were pictured with more critters than any other caliber.
When they start rooting through my ammo and component stash, more evidence of much usage of the 270 cartridge will become apparent.
Finally, if a get together is arranged after my departure; my hunting pals will probably not remember what I hunted with in my later years but will remember me and a Ruger 1 or a pre-64 Winchester.
