I don't own a 99 in 358 WIN anymore, but when I did they had Redfield turn-in one-piece bases installed and they seemed to work just fine despite being attached with only three screws.

I'm not trying to convince anyone that the Tasco BM-99 one-piece base is functionally superior to the two-piece Weaver bases. I've used Weaver bases on dozens of factory d&t Savage 99s and think that they are fully functional bases, I've just come to prefer the aesthetics of the blued steel BM-99s when I want to use Weaver-style rings.
