Understand the sentiment, Steve. And the are lefty and otherwise covid-crazy doctors, to be sure. But it’s not “the doctors” making those situations you cite, it’s the money-managers in control of the hospital systems making them. Amongst them are sometimes a few doctor hacks made mid-level administrators, but by and large it’s accountants with mba’s who have been implementing said mindless policies, in the name of CYA and covid profit-hunting. And that is a shabby way to make system-wide hospital policy decisions, yes.
