I agree the 4-16 is plenty of scope for shooting. What I've found the last few years is that it seems animals are often skittish as heck and with my ageing eyes I like to have that little bit of extra power to catch a glimpse of something way out there in the tree line, or hiding behind a bush or otherwise making it difficult to find them. I can always dial back to a reasonable shooting power, but I can't always see what I want to see without enough power. At least in my head I think it is necessary. In the long run I just want to do a Big Stick and try everything to see how I like it.... but I won't be giving any Big Stick type reviews on my equipment... LOL
