The elk in the Yellowstone area are hammered by the wolves. The recruitment rate is poor to the point of no return. Wolves kill everything that’s made of meat and of course us dirty unwashed citizens aren’t allowed to kill them. Oh yeah, what’s the wolf quota up north fork of the Shoshone????? Wolves rip hibernating bears out of their dens, kill lions and have disrupted our elk herd terribly. How many moose are left up north fork, south fork and Clark’s fork? Let us not forget the slaughter of elk by Park Rangers and then burying the carcasses by the thousands every winter!!!!! This occurred in the sixties and seventies. The jelly stone Park hates elk.
Invasive noxious weeds abound in that damn place with no attempted control that I’ve heard of.
