I like to mostly to Church, regular, bolo, western, if it's too hot, then open shirt.
If it requires a tie, I don't want to be there. Weddings, funerals, court appearances.
Unless you wear a tie all day every day, wearing a tie to church sends messages I choose not to send. God has already seen me in my skivvies, isn't going to be impressed by a tie, so wearing a tie to church is "puttin' on airs" (as my grandparents would have said) to impress people. Church is supposed to be about your personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, not about trying to impress your fellow sinners. IMHO anyway.
