I had a client of mine tell me his brother was liquidating his gun collection and that one of those guns belonged to my Grandfather at one point. He sold the gun to his brother in the late 60's and it was hunted for a few years then apparently stuck in a case to sit.
It's what you would call a grey rat, not surprising. Metal has some surface rust but no pitting, the problem is the tang has a huge crack.
Set aside the history and it's connection to my family , what would you pay for a rifle in this condition?
It's year of production based on the serial number is 1950.
I have a few 99's but am no expert in the area like you gents.
