True, but the better deer habitat is south of the checkerboard on pure BLM surface. Little Mountain to be specific.

Besides, the checkerboard in that area is largely Rock Springs Grazing Association, which at this time allows public access. That could change I guess but as of right now they don’t restrict public access.
