As a real fighting weapon, a 7-foot or more stave of ash or hickory is quite formidable. Not really a "home defense" arm, though.
I'm not a real big fan of the whole "less than lethal" thing.... If I have to defend myself against someone, I don't give a schidt if he ends up fertilizing a 7' x 3' plot. If not a gun, then.... a short sword. Duessack. Cutlass. Something like that.
Maybe a tomahawk.
I think I'd rather have a lead sap than a ball bat, honestly. They're actually quite deadly.
Is a lead sap filled with something like lead shot, or a solid piece of lead? Just curious. I’ve never seen one in person.
