I have built a couple of them and have hunted one time in Africa with one..Its balistics are the same as the "original ballistics" of the .404 Jefferys, but won't match todays loads in a 404 Jefferys...

I liked the 350 gr. Barnes X at 2350 FPS and the 400 gr. Woodleighs at 2150 FPS...both do the job.

It makes a nice light to carry rifle, and real nice to shoot, but brass can be a problem and in the end its like a wildcat, not very practical so I sold them and went back to using my .375 H&H and 416 Rem..
