Gonna sound liberal here.

I've known those people. Lived among them, visited them, ate in their homes. Related to some.

None total welfare rats. All work, most full time or as much as possible.
They have a certain mentality that they are poor and others are rich.
So far behind the ball they can never catch up.
(Last part, I understand well)

So, if they get money, it's never enough to change their lives much. Now.
And they blow it.
Couple that with the mentality and habits they often possess, and inevitably
they lose any good job they may get.

Once in a while one will be Better Than Everyone Else,
get a good job, avoid stupid decisions, and do very well.
It's rare.


Darn shame really, self perpetrated pre-destined failure.
Generation after generation.

And there ain't a dam thing anyone can do to fix it. Including throwing money at it.


As I type, it occurs to me I'm thinking of a similar but very different
group of folks.


Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
