The A, B, and C prefixes are all the “good” prefixes. The anti bind slot officially started with the A prefix around 1975 (but I have seen a late non prefix with the slot).

I’ve had several gunsmiths say the A prefix actions were the straightest, the lugs had the most contact with the action raceways, and the handles were clocked perfectly.

The ks production spanned late B to G prefixes, so I doubt you will find an A prefix KS. grin

Supposedly the late production RR actions were also very straight.

I have a couple RR 700’s. I was surprised as to how accurate they are. I have several “C” serial number 700’s one isn’t as good as most 700’s I have, while the others are great.

I prefer classic.
