Looked up the shooters name and found some articles.
One claims the dead guy would come there to pick up pallets to resell.
No mention of him having a criminal history or being accused of stealing from the property.
The guard claims he had been trespassed from the property several times.
The guard also was not licensed.
Be interesting to know more about the pallet situation if thats the trespass reason.
