It shoots 45-70 and 45-90 which gives you a wide range of commercial ammo and the ability to handload for large and dangerous game.
Mine performed so well in Africa with 45-90 loads of NF bullets(ele, buff, leopard) that I now have a 45-90 DR also.

A friend has invited me to join him in South Texas to hunt Zebu this fall. Wild Indian humpbacked cattle - big enough to use my .458(45-90) DR on.
