I wasn't able to hunt the opener yesterday morning due to work; but was able to hunt the evening. A buddy came out and took a doe for the freezer. The only buck we saw was a 4pt; but he was probably the biggest 4pt that I have ever seen and I probably should have taken him. I decided that if I saw him this evening I would do just that. At 4:45 PM, 2 does stepped out. Seeming unhurried. I watched them meander out into the field for a few minutes when out of nowhere they spooked. Pulled the binos up and started glassing the woodline and was able to make out what appeared to be a decent set of horns coming outta the brush. Thinking it might have been the 4pt from the day before I was a little surprised to see this guy. As I had not seen him before that I could recall. I took a minute or two to study him through the binos and made the decision that he would eat as good as any of them and that he looked pretty cool to boot. He has kind of an odd figured rack.

173 yards, bang flop with the .308 and a 150g Hornady.
