They’ve been using “long rifle” and “long gun” for a reason.

Smartass, I don't mean "can't tell the difference" if I am looking at one. I'm talking about the typical person not being able to tell the difference and simply referring to the firearm as a "long gun".

I'm a long-standing member of North State Shooting Club in Butner, NC - a 1,000 yard range where we shoot all types of "long guns". You should come shoot with us sometime - if you're game, that is.
