Turkey was supposed-to-be the national bird had Ben Franklin had his way.

Native Americans considered Wild Turkey a sacred bird and harbinger of good fortune.


Some still do but most can't afford it in the volumes they drink, so they go with R&R or some other cheap lighter fluidesque Canadian rotgut instead.
