I am looking at six 100 round boxes of 41 mag ammo. One box is 165s over a light charge of Universal and another is similar, but with Titegroup and they are not germane to this discussion. But they shoot nicely from the Total Titanium Taurus Tracker.

Then we have my cast 250s from an Accurate mold over 20 gr H110. I hate to abuse my 657 mountain gun with this load and generally use it only in the SBH bisley hunter. But if thinking about self defense in grizzly country, I might make an exception.

More appropriate for use in the N frame is the 210 XTP over 21 gr of H110.

There is also a box of 210 XTP over 12 gr Blue Dot a box of 210 gr Accurate cast over 10 gr Longshot.

I am sure any of these latter three would be lethal on deer or predators of most persuasions. For elk or grizzly, I would stick with that 250 gr load, and since I have the Ruger, I would carry it.
