There's lots of alternatives out there. Depending on how "reduced" you want to go, powders like Bullseye, Unique, and Red Dot work splendidly for low vel target loads. Step up a notch and 2400, 4227, Reloader 7, 4198, and 3031, etc. fill the bill. Serious hunting loads can be built with those powders also. Grab a copy of Lyman's cast bullet handbook and/or Lyman's general reloading handbook and you'll gain an education about what works in your situation.
