I'm glad they were caught, but what happens next is the problem. DAs that don't do their jobs are the issue, along with judges that don't do THEIR jobs, either.
Give them a fair trial, and hang them.
DA: Did you injure this Asian woman?
Perp: No sah, de honky chick kept tryin' t'fall waaay down and ah' caught her.
Judge: Case dismissed with extreme prejudice.
