I bought 3 new molds from M&P a few months back and I'm finally getting around to using them. They came with 4 sets of pins each, hp, penta hp, flat nose, and cup point. I'm going to make some bullets for bear defense. Usually I just go for a wide flat nose cast on the harder side. Now I'm thinking a bit of expansion might not be a bad thing. I'm wondering about using the cup point and if the bullets will travel straight line and if the cup point has any downside.

I'm thinking of trying for about a bhn of 15. The molds are a 420g for my 45/70 guide gun, a 44 cal 270 g hammer, and a .452 230g for my acp's and maybe my colts. Although I really like my 252g Lee swc in the colts. We have a lot of grizzlies where I bow hunt and where we pick berries. So, cup point or flat nose?
