Apologies to the late Carrie Fischer for stealing the title of her book. wink

I've been looking at this new Robertson stock for a few weeks now but haven't been in the mood to start hackin' away on it. Then this morning...somewhere halfway through my second cup of Sulawesi, it seemed like the time to do it. I'd already put the front and rear action screw pilot holes in it so my reference points were already established. It came with a very good basic inlet which saved a lot of work and angst.

I made a .248 pin to locate the action screw holes in line along the X and Y:

Finished my coffee, gave the NHRA 'Best Engineered Car' trophy in the race shop a rub for good luck, swapped the 1/4" collet for a 5/8" and got after the trigger guard mortise with a waxed two flute 5/8" end mill:

Moved 6.625" to the front screw location, verified it with the .248 pin, swapped collets for a 3/4" and a waxed 3/4" two flute end mill. I call this the 'S.A.F.' portion (S#!+'s-A-Flyin'):

More S.A.F. :

It all came out pretty well. I still have to finish up the pillars, cut for the recoil lug and cut in the port, bolt handle and bolt release.
