Was watching Blaines Outdoor World just now (yes,on TV).

He was hunting with a professional Hog hunting outfit and guide in Florida and killed a monster boar they called HOGZILLA. The outfitter said they were very rare, looked about 500 lbs, and he was envious of Blaine getting to take it home because he said they are the best eating meat hogs there is, much better than farm raised.

I didn't hear him say anything about whether it smelled or not.

Reminded me of a huge boar my little cousin killed in E Texas 50 years ago and rolled onto Grandads tractor pulled farm sled and brought to the farm house on Thanksgiving or Christmas morning with a few uncles there. They told him to haul it out in the woods and dump it. He did, but brought back a big ham and put it on the grate by the big warming fire we kept by the porch when family gathered in cold weather.

The boar didn't stink and by that evening about dark the roast got smelling pretty danged good. It tasted even better and the uncles, all being woodsmen growing up, even wondered if the hog would still be good having laid out all day.

Dark and whiskey prevented us from finding out.

The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but that of a fool to the left.
