Not sure if this is the right forum, but I'll try here first.

Bought some Lapua brass, heard it was top quality, etc. etc. As per my usual procedures with new stuff, I tried it in my chamber before loading any. So this is factory brass, never been fired, straight out of the box. Brass chambered fine. No problem there. First, and every case (100), extracted fine, but would not eject from the bolt face.

My thought was that it was an extractor/ejector problem, so I tried three other name brands. All were fine. Not one hang up.

Comparing the Lapua to the others reveals that the angle cut into the web is sharper on the Lapua than the others, resulting in the case contacting the extractor at the edge of the web. So, even though both the extractor and ejectors are doing what they were made to do, the case will remain in the bolt face and have to be removed manually (easily done, no force required).

Same goes for the cases after one firing or two firings.

Is this a common issue with the Lapua brass? Or did my intimate relationship with Murphy once again reassert itself?
